Investment Philosophy
We believe real estate offers unique and compelling attributes
for savvy investors with the resources and talent to capitalize
on the asset class’s inherent inefficiencies. Unlike liquid
public markets, commercial real estate markets are more opaque,
therein creating opportunities for specialists like SRS. Our aim
is simple: to achieve high rates of return by investing for current
income and long-term underlying capital appreciation. Speculation,
“quick flips,” leveraged plays, and other excesses of
the recent market stand in stark contrast with our tried-and-true
approach of buying low, underwriting conservatively, and generating
value through fundamental property enhancements.
SRS typically
evaluates roughly 50 potential opportunities to find a single investment,
a 2% “hit rate” of which we are extremely proud. In
short, we believe our disciplined, opportunistic approach gives
SRS significant, sustainable competitive advantages over our peers. |
